Description
Design philosophy
The height channel is not a detail.
Dolby Atmos adds the vertical dimension โ the overhead information that makes immersive cinema credible. The Q6 is built for the ceiling. The wedge-profile cabinet angles the drivers toward the listening position at installation โ the Corundum dome fires downward without bracket adjustment. The same tweeter as every Q-Series model. The height channel carries the same acoustic identity as the rest of the system.

Corundum โ aluminium oxide at 9/10 Mohs hardness. Dome resonance above the audible range. Flat to 22 kHz. FEA-optimised underhung motor. Copper cap pole piece. Rear acoustic chamber. Lower cabinet position โ faces the listening area when ceiling-mounted. The same tweeter across every Q-Series model.
Midwoofer โ upper position

Glass Fiber Composite โ fibreglass rigidity with controlled damping. Aluminium shorting ring on the motor. Cast aluminium chassis. Free air resonance of 46 Hz. 10.68mm peak-to-peak linear excursion. Upper cabinet position โ ceiling boundary reinforcement supplements bass output at the installed position.
Signal integration
The crossover is where the speaker is truly designed.
Crossover at ~1,800 Hz. Both transducers within their natural operating range at the transition. Low-loss network topology. Off-axis performance optimised for the downward angles of ceiling placement โ the listener is always below, never on the direct axis. Stable 8ฮฉ load.

The wedge-profiled cabinet angles the drivers toward the listening position at installation. Flat rear panel against the ceiling surface โ the Corundum dome fires downward without bracket adjustment. Designed for standard ceiling heights.
Driver orientation
Inverted โ tweeter in lower position
The Corundum dome occupies the lower half of the black inset baffle. The GFC midwoofer occupies the upper half. When ceiling-mounted, the dome faces the listening area. Height localisation in Atmos content depends on high-frequency directional cues from above. The tweeter, correctly placed, delivers them.
Enclosure
Acoustic suspension โ sealed
Sealed enclosure, tuned for ceiling-mounted deployment. Ceiling boundary reinforcement supplements bass output at the installed position. Clean rolloff โ integrates with processor bass management at 100 Hz.

Flat rear panel. Standard ceiling bracket compatible. Optimal placement 30โ55ยฐ above the listening position per Dolby Atmos guidelines. Built-in angle covers standard ceiling heights without bracket correction.

High-density natural wood composite. Internally braced. Rounded edges, machined baffle inset. Flat-sanded between coats, inspected under raking light. Chalk suits light-coloured ceilings. Five finishes available.
