Every decision is acoustic.
The Q5 uses the same Corundum dome tweeter as every Q-Series model. The acoustic transition from front to surround is the moment that reveals a mismatched system. In a Q-Series installation, it does not.

Corundum โ aluminium oxide at 9/10 Mohs hardness. Dome resonance above the audible range. Flat to 22 kHz. FEA-optimised underhung motor. Copper cap pole piece. Rear acoustic chamber. The same tweeter across every Q-Series model.
Midwoofer
6ยฝโณ Glass Fiber Composite cone
Glass Fiber Composite โ fibreglass rigidity with controlled damping. Aluminium shorting ring on the motor. Cast aluminium chassis. Free air resonance of 46 Hz. 10.68mm peak-to-peak linear excursion.
Signal integration
The crossover is where the speaker is truly designed.
Crossover at ~1,800 Hz. Both transducers within their natural operating range at the transition. Low-loss network topology. Resonance suppression throughout. Stable 8ฮฉ load.

Built for the wall.
Enclosure
Acoustic suspension โ sealed
Sealed enclosure. Designed for wall-mounted placement. Works with wall boundary reinforcement. No port interaction with the wall surface.

Flat rear panel. Standard wall bracket compatible. 410mm tall. Optimal placement at ear level, angled toward the listening position.

Acoustic Performance
Physical
Amplifier pairing.
At 88 dB sensitivity and 4 ฮฉ nominal impedance, the X1 is designed for a capable solid-state amplifier with stable current delivery into low-impedance loads. It is not optimised for low-power SET or OTL topologies. A minimum of 50 W into 4 ฮฉ, with a damping factor above 50, is recommended. Our team is available to advise on specific pairings before purchase.

The Q5 closes the surround field of a complete Q-Series cinema system. The same Corundum dome tweeter as the front channels. The same Glass Fiber Composite driver family. The acoustic transition from front to surround is inaudible.
