The C18d shares an identical 300mm cabinet depth with the C18s. The dual driver configuration scales vertically — both 18″ neodymium transducers stacked within the same slim footprint that defines the C-Series aesthetic. No extra depth. No installation compromise.
This is not a coincidence of geometry — it is a deliberate design constraint. V&Y specified the cabinet envelope first, then engineered the internal architecture to meet it. The C18d and C18s are visually interchangeable in any installation; only the height tells them apart.

What changes — and what does not
Internal architecture
One shared
acoustic chamber.
Both drivers share a single sealed internal volume rather than separate chambers. At the low frequencies of cinema LFE reproduction, both transducers work against the same air mass — acoustically coupled, acoustically coherent. The engineering is simpler. The acoustic result is cleaner.
A single 30mm cross-brace between the two driver positions — with a 180mm airway to allow full pressure coupling — stiffens the tall cabinet against panel resonance without disrupting the shared acoustic space.

The C18d delivers 134dB peak SPL at one metre — 9dB above the C18s — with two 600W amplifier channels. At this output level, it competes directly with Procella's reference P18 for mid-to-large dedicated cinema rooms of 3,500 to 8,000 cubic feet, as a passive unit giving integrators complete control over amplification and DSP.

The C18d Qtc of 0.594 reflects the geometry constraint of the 480mm minimum driver center-to-center separation required by the 460mm basket diameter. The resulting acoustic volume exceeds the target for Qtc 0.68, producing a slightly lower system Q. This alignment is within the accepted range for professional cinema subwoofers and is consistent with the design philosophy of Procella, whose reference P18 runs a comparable system Q with active DSP correction. Integrators deploying Trinnov Altitude, Datasat RS20i, or Dirac Live Bass Control can apply room correction to further extend in-room response.

Warranty
Ten years. Transferable.
Full parts and labour coverage for ten years from the date of purchase. The warranty transfers to subsequent owners on private resale — register the new owner and full coverage continues. We build loudspeakers intended to last a generation. The warranty reflects that intention.

Finish options
Five finishes. All hand-applied. All to specification.
Each finish is applied in controlled stages. Coats are flat-sanded between applications. Every surface is inspected under raking light before the next layer is added. The cabinet clears our facility only when it meets a written surface specification — not a visual judgment, a documented standard.
