Q3
3-Way Floorstanding Loudspeaker
Every decision is acoustic.
This is the topology that serious floorstanding loudspeaker engineering converges on when no compromise is acceptable. Every dimension, every component value, every surface decision is derived from the acoustic requirements of this specific driver configuration in this specific architecture. The X3 does not approximate full-range performance. It defines it within the X-Series.
One material. Two transducers. Total coherence.
29mm TeXtremeยฎ dome, waveguide-loaded
The same waveguide-loaded tweeter used across the X-Series โ ensuring tonal consistency from the X1 bookshelf to the X3 reference floorstander. A spread-tow carbon composite dome, dual copper cap neodymium motor, and integrated cast aluminum waveguide for controlled directivity above the ~2,800 Hz crossover point.
6ยฝโณ TeXtremeยฎ cone, sealed midrange
A woven spread-tow carbon cone combining high rigidity and low moving mass โ the two properties that most directly govern midrange resolution and transient accuracy. The neodymium motor uses an extended copper sleeve on the pole piece to suppress inductance modulation across the excursion range, reducing dynamic compression and preserving detail at all output levels. Housed in a dedicated sealed midrange chamber that is fully isolated from the bass enclosure โ eliminating the standing wave contamination and pressure variations that degrade midrange clarity in vented designs. This chamber is the acoustic centre of the X3.
2ร 7ยฝโณ TeXtremeยฎ cone, long-excursion
Two 7ยฝโณ SATORI TeXtremeยฎ long-excursion woofers operating in parallel within a dedicated bass-reflex enclosure, tuned to 32 Hz. The combined cone area โ equivalent to a single 10.6โณ driver โ moves the air volume required for authoritative deep bass reproduction without the excursion stress and thermal compression that a single driver would face at equivalent output levels. Each woofer is operated below 400 Hz exclusively, with no midrange content reaching its cone. The result is clean, linear, low-distortion bass to 32 Hz under real listening conditions, not just in an anechoic chamber.
TeXtremeยฎ
The crossover is where the speaker is truly designed.
The X3 crossover manages the transition from woofers to midrange at ~400 Hz, and from midrange to tweeter at ~2,800 Hz. Both transition regions use LCR impedance linearisation to present a stable, predictable load to the amplifier across the full frequency range. Resonance suppression networks at each driver's mechanical breakup frequency prevent those modes from reaching the listening position. The entire crossover assembly is housed in a sealed chamber at the cabinet base, separated from both the midrange cavity and the bass enclosure by a slanted divider that suppresses standing wave formation within the crossover cavity itself.
The result is a network where component values are stable under mechanical load, phase alignment is maintained through both crossover regions, and the amplifier sees a load that does not punish it for its power.
~400 Hz
Woofers cross out. Midrange chamber operates above this point only.
~2,800 Hz
Set at the directivity-optimised waveguide tweeter transition point.
3-way LCR
Sealed crossover chamber. Slanted divider. Impedance linearised. Phase-aligned across both regions.
Precision has a geometry.
Three chambers. Three acoustic environments.
The sealed midrange chamber eliminates bass-frequency pressure variations from the midrange driver's rear face โ the primary source of midrange coloration in non-isolated designs. The bass-reflex woofer enclosure is tuned independently to 32 Hz. The crossover chamber is isolated from both. No acoustic energy crosses between them.
Faceted, diffraction-controlled baffle
The faceted baffle profile suppresses high-frequency diffraction at cabinet edges. Driver placement is calculated against the baffle geometry to displace diffraction artefacts outside the critical listening band. The cabinet rake provides passive time alignment between tweeter, midrange, and woofer acoustic centres without requiring correction in the crossover network.
Down-firing reflex, 32 Hz
Down-firing bass reflex port, tuned to 32 Hz โ the lowest port tuning in the X-Series. At this alignment, the dual 7ยฝโณ woofers extend into the deep bass register with linear output that few floorstanding loudspeakers at any price achieve without a dedicated subwoofer. The down-firing port orientation keeps turbulence noise away from the listening axis and uses floor boundary reinforcement to extend bass loading.
33 kg per cabinet. Built to that standard.
High-density natural wood composite construction with multiple material thicknesses โ 15mm, 18mm, and 25mm panels used in different structural zones depending on load and resonance requirements. Non-parallel internal walls suppress standing wave formation within the enclosure. Strategic bracing positions are calculated to suppress panel resonance modes across the full bass operating range. At 33 kg per cabinet, the X3 has the mass its acoustic architecture requires.
Multi-stage hand-applied finish
Each cabinet passes through the same multi-stage finishing process as every V&Y model โ flat-sanded between coats, inspected under raking light, cleared only when it meets our written surface specification. At this cabinet scale, the finishing process takes longer. The standard does not change.

Amplifier pairing.
Stereo. Cinema. No subwoofer required.
The shared tweeter across all X-Series models ensures that the X3's high-frequency character is precisely matched to every other speaker in the system. A listener seated in the sweet spot of an X3-anchored cinema room hears the same tweeter character from every direction. That consistency is not an accident โ it is a design standard applied across the entire X-Series at the driver selection stage.
Built for decades. Backed without conditions.
